Yakuza 3

Last night “news” spread that Yakuza 3 (Ryu ga Gotoku 3) was “never” coming out in North America. Crushing words, but there’s hope for Yakuza fans.

First, the Examiner updated their post and said the quote from Ray Almeda, a Sega employee, was not an official statement.

We asked the Sega PR representative that worked on Yakuza 2 what’s going on with Yakuza 3 and received the following statement.

“We have no confirmation on whether or not Yakuza 3 is coming over to the states. We’ll keep you posted if anything changes.”

While this isn’t a confirmation that Yakuza 3 is coming out, it leaves the door open for a possible release. There’s also a slim chance Yakuza 3 could get an international release via another publisher like Atlus or NIS America, two companies that specialize in localizing Japanese games and published Sega titles outside of Japan.

Holy shit it has to come here!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i will punch edsel in the face if it dosent. here is my promice to you!!! if Yakuza 3 comes to america i will buy it and live-stream me playing it for all of you thats how excited i am!

AND THIS THIRD! Hey all I'm Edsel the other host its my first post on here Alex was just too lazy to give me the username and password for the blogger account until like 5 mins ago.

Yes, Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny is coming out this summer. When? August 27 in Japan and September 1 in North America. A representative from Namco Bandai Games America shared the release date with us.

Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny brings the combat system from Soulcalibur IV to the PSP. New features include the sleeve knife wielder Dampierre, God of War icon Kratos, and a single player training mode. The character creation system from Soulcalibur IV also made its way in the game, which now includes clown hand puppets.

Well sounds awesome brings back memories of soulcalibur 2 and 4 Alex and i playing all day he beating the crap out of me with maxi and me kicking his ass with nightmare. The sad thing is either of us would buy it and give all of you our impressions on it but... We spent all our money on dragon*con tickets and hotel rooms...sad...

And to the halo fan boy this is my response to you and Alex:

I am a PS3 owner I've never owned a 360 the only time I've ever played halo is at a friends house. But a anime? maybe cool? it will be interesting to see how it plays out. My prediction its going to go one of 2 ways... Either awesome and the coolest thing ever or horrible and should be best forgotten. sorry there is no in between.

LBP Costumes History in the making. (wow that headline sucked)

Sony Computer Entertainment Japan spilled the beans on the next major LittleBigPlanet expansion pack. A history set with Sackboy Mozart and Genghis Khan is scheduled for August 13.

The characters are (from left to right): Ada Lovelace (aka the Countess of Lovelace), Boudica, Mozart, and Genghis Khan. Each costume costs 100 yen ($1) or you can buy the whole pack for 300 yen ($3). On the same day Sony will release a History Kit with stickers and level decorations for 400 yen ($4).

Nobuo Uematsu Returns To Score Final Fantasy XIV and Other Square Projects

Interest +10! In a feature on Nobuo Uematsu, Wired mentions that the veteran RPG composer is returning is returning to compose Final Fantasy XIV, as well as two more unannounced Square Enix projects (FF Gaiden please!) to be announced this year.

Uematsu took a break from Final Fantasy and Square in 2004. The latest Uematsu tracks you’ve heard in the past year or two are probably from Super Smash Bros. Brawl (the theme to the game).

He Did all the music to Final Fantasy XI For those of you who don't know im really big on MMORPGs my first was FFXI and now im on to wow his stuff is so good and relaxing that i even downloaded all the music from the game and expansions and put them on my ipod. sad i know but its good music. I cant wait so hear the music he is doing and play the game because its gonna be freakin amazeing! bottom line badass composer is doing music for Final Fantasy XIV and i can't wait!

Halo Anime?

The Los Angeles Times reports that directional duties will be handled by Shinji Aramaki, the man behind Appleseed and its sequel. Aramaki will also be directing his own Halo short. Titled Halo Legends, the anime series will be distributed by WB on DVDs and Blu-ray early next year, and will be previewable on XBLA this fall.

While Production I.G. is no stranger to working on game-related projects (they’ve worked on everything from Fire Emblem to Professor Layton), I was surprised to see Toei enlisted to aid with the project. Why enlist Toei when you’ve already got studios like I.G. and Studio 4°C, both with a significant amount of sci-fi experience?

Delving further into the L.A. Times’ article gives you an idea:

Studio4 C’s project, tentatively called “Origins,” is a two-parter that’s about 30 minutes long in total and tells the entire 100,000 year history of the Halo universe. Another, from Toei, is the only one outside of the official canon and pokes fun at some of the game’s characters.

Ok Now im a big fan of anime. always have been but a Halo anime? it will be cool and i will watch it but im very skeptical about it. I just cant see Halo the awesome game as a anime. some of the awesomeness as a game will be lost. as of right now i guess i gotta get through my list of anime to watch then i can fully concentrate on this.
